Self-Pay
If you plan to use insurance and want to be notified as soon as my in-network status is approved, please email me at connect@rcsaltandpine.com. In the meantime, please contact your insurance provider to verify your coverage, including any applicable deductibles or copays.
Out-of-Network & Superbills
If I am not currently in-network with your insurance provider, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. Upon request, I can provide you with a monthly statement called a Superbill. You can submit this document to your insurance company for potential partial or full reimbursement, depending on your specific plan's out-of-network coverage.
Reduced Fee & Sliding Scale Options
I believe that quality mental health care should be accessible. If you do not have health insurance, or if you prefer the privacy and flexibility of private-pay services, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots in my practice. These slots provide reduced-rate fees based on your household size and financial need.
Initial Intake Assessment: $195 (Standard rate; sliding scale tiers range from $150 down to a minimum floor of $95)
60-Minute Routine Session: $160 (Standard rate; sliding scale tiers range from $120 down to a minimum floor of $75)
Please note that sliding scale placements are not guaranteed for everyone. They are strictly limited by current caseload capacity, require objective financial documentation, and are formally re-evaluated every 6 months.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
Under federal law and applicable state regulations (including Maine Title 22 §1718-C), uninsured and self-pay clients are entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected counseling costs before an appointment.
If your final bill exceeds this estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute it. Please save a copy of your estimate. For questions or to file a dispute, visit the federal CMS No Surprises website or contact your state’s insurance bureau:
Maine Clients: Contact the Maine Bureau of Insurance at (207) 624-8475.
