Individualized Support for Your Healing
Therapy can look different for everyone, and the right support should reflect the person receiving it. Counseling at Salt & Pine Restorative Counseling is individualized to your experiences, needs, and goals, with space to slow down, understand what you’ve been through, and work through the things affecting your life today.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, difficult life experiences, or a season of change, therapy can provide a safe and supportive place to build insight, reconnect with yourself, and develop tools for moving forward. Treatment will incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your needs, with a focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, processing difficult experiences, and supporting lasting change.
Therapeutic interventions may include approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other approaches selected based on your individual needs and goals. Explore the approaches below to learn more about what each may look like in therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Therapy can help identify patterns of thinking that may be contributing to distress, develop more balanced and helpful ways of responding, and build practical coping skills for managing challenges.
CBT can be effective in addressing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, unhelpful thought patterns, and difficulties with emotional regulation or coping. CBT is often structured and goal-oriented, using strategies and interventions that can be practiced both in and outside of sessions to support meaningful, lasting change.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, trauma-focused approach designed to help the brain process experiences that continue to feel distressing, overwhelming, or unresolved. Difficult experiences can remain connected to intense emotions, physical sensations, negative beliefs, or a sense of being stuck in the past, which can continue to affect how you think, feel, and respond in the present.
EMDR uses a series of phases to develop emotional regulation and stabilization skills before processing distressing experiences. During reprocessing, bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements or gentle tapping—is used while focusing on aspects of the experience. The goal is not to erase memories or change what happened, but to reduce the emotional intensity associated with them and develop a more adaptive understanding of the experience. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment with substantial research supporting its effectiveness in reducing symptoms related to trauma and other distressing experiences. Treatment is individualized and paced according to your needs, and you do not need to share every detail of an experience for EMDR to be effective.
Other Supportive Interventions
Therapy may incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches and interventions depending on your individual needs, goals, and preferences. In addition to CBT and EMDR, treatment may draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-informed and strengths-based approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused techniques, and psychoeducation.
A person-centered approach serves as the foundation of treatment, allowing therapeutic strategies to be thoughtfully integrated based on what feels most appropriate for your needs and where you are in the therapeutic process. These approaches can support emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and foster a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.
